To some extend Xiaomi 5 disappoints me because of the design. Compared to Xiaomi Note, which was released last year, Xiaomi 5 makes little improvement. It is protected by a 3D back-cover, which is minifies to 5.15 inches. This may drive those who are accustomed to small phone. And this time, fingerprint recognition technique is applied to Xiaomi’s display. It is the first time Xiaomi flagship has used this technique. With fingerprint recognition, users can unlock the phone and pay more conveniently.
MIUI 7
MIUI 7 doesn’t bring so many mends to Xiaomi 5. However, there are still some new features added, for example, the beauty video call. Xiaomi 5 supports the VoLET technique, which accelerates 4G video call. Moreover, it can beautify your image in the video. Meanwhile, you can interact with friends with stickers.
Besides, you can sync your Android data with one click. Once launch the app and scan the QR code, you can sync all contacts, text messages, and App to the new device.
Camera
Xiaomi 5 sports with a dual-camera. The rear one is 16MP Sony camera. Although in the aspect of color reproduction and brightness, it is necessary for Xiaomi to make more improvements, Xiaomi can shoot higher-quality picture than other flagship.
Processor and Storage
Xiaomi 5 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This will speed up the performance of the device. And the RAM of the phone is 3GB. Both determine the fast performance. Like many other Android phones, such as Sony Xperia Z5, HTC M10, HUAWEI Mate 8, Samsung Galaxy S7 comes without SD slot. However, it comes with a 32GB internal storage, which is enough for text messages, Android photos, and apps.
ConclusionTo conclude, Xiaomi 5 isn’t improved too much. But it amazes me without some new features and revamped details. And it is available at about 440 USD. Buy or not buy? It depends on you.
