First of all, let's start with the possible release date of Samsung g Galaxy. Samsung has made it a habit to announce the Galaxy S family at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. This year(2017), the Congress will take place from February 27, meaning that the company will announce Samsung Galaxy S8 on February 26, 2017.

It is also said that the Samsung will push the release date to counter the loss of the Note 7. Samsung has been without a flagship device for a while, and the company wants to see S8 out on the market as early as possible.

According to initial reports, the S8 will hit the market somewhere around March 13. That is two weeks after the announcement at the MWC. But some reports claim we might wait till April.

The Galaxy S8's face could be 85 percent or 90 percent screen. That is to say, it will have a huge screen-to-phone face ratio. It is also said that Samsung will be able to fit a 5.8-inch display into the Galaxy S8 and a 6.2-inch screen on the Galaxy S8 Plus. Both screen sizes are larger than the Note 7's 5.7-inch screen, but the S8 is expected to have a smaller footprint than both the Note 7 and S8 Plus.

It's also expected that Samsung will go ultra-high-def for its next big phone, bumping up the S7's current resolution (2,560x1,440 pixels) to a 4K resolution of 3,840x2,160 pixels.

Early leaks reveal that there is a dual camera setup at the back of the device – one is a 16-megapixel lens and another is an 8-megapixel lens. However, the latest news discloses that owing to the large display in the front of the phone, a dual camera setup will be hard to cram in. Nevertheless, the camera will see an upgrade and the Samsung Galaxy S8 may finally become the company's first Android phone to feature autofocus functionality on the front camera.
